Infusion Services
At Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, we provide infusion therapy services for chronic diseases and cancer treatments in a friendly, welcoming environment. Registered nurses have specialized training in infusion therapy, and are focused on patient safety and comfort. With comfortable recliners, television sets, books and magazines, we are dedicated to making the experience as pleasant as possible.
Specially trained nurses provide a range of therapies and close monitoring to ensure patient safety, including:
- Accessing and obtaining lab specimens from central lines
- Biotherapy
- Care and access of central venous access lines and ports
- Delivery of medications by IV, IM or SC routes
- IV hydration therapy
- Outpatient blood therapy (transfusion) of whole blood, packed cells, platelets and IVIG
Patient education and assessment of needs is given a high priority in an environment that will make each visit special and comforting to the patient and family members. Staff places extra emphasis on coordination of care with the patient’s physician and in timely scheduling of visits. The clinic director and medical director are available to discuss any patient concerns. Infusion services operates on an appointment basis, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, as needed.
