Critical Care Medicine
The medical professionals at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center provide 24-hour monitoring and acute care for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Patients have access to specialists in a range of disciplines who utilize advanced equipment and technology to provide quality care.
We understand that having a family member or loved one in the ICU can be difficult - that’s why critical care team members are dedicated to keeping you informed and answering your questions.
The ICU has a total of 14 private rooms, each with cable TV and a private bath. We also offer a private shower area. Patients and their family members have access to room service, and meals may be enjoyed in the patients' rooms.
The ICU nurses caring for our patients at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center have national certifications known as critical care registered nurse (CCRN or PCCN). In addition, all of the nurses carry certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
During a patient's hospital stay, he or she will have a critical care team, which may be comprised of an intensivist, registered nurses, ICU technicians, physical therapist, pharmacist, clinical social worker, respiratory therapist and his or her admitting physician.
