3/30/2024
To celebrate National Doctors’ Day this year, Mat-Su Regional Medical Center along with the Mat-Su Health Foundation made a charitable contribution to MyHouse a local organization for Homeless or At Risk Youth in honor of its medical staff. Elizabeth Ripley, CEO, Mat Su Health Foundation, Dave Wallace CEO, Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and members of the medical staff to include Chief of Staff Dr. Tracy Slager, and Pediatrician Dr. Bruce Hess were on hand to present checks to Michelle Overstreet and Issac Smoldon from MyHouse.
“We want to extend our gratitude to all the doctors in our community on this momentous occasion of Doctor’s Day,” said Dave Wallace, CEO of Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. “We appreciate their contributions, sacrifices, skills and unwavering care they provide each year at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.”
MyHouse has served over 1,100 homeless or at risk youth between the ages of 14-25 since 2011. Their philosophy of a hand-up not a hand-out while providing a safe shelter and wrap-around services has empowered the youth they serve to become self-supporting members of our community.
“We are incredibly honored to be chosen for this funding in this era of uncertainty. This donation helps us to provide stabilization services as well as program exit strategies for homeless youth in the Mat-Su Valley” said Michelle Overstreet, CEO and Founder of MyHouse.
